The municipality publishes bicycle counts from induction loops on its main bridges, and my methods course asked whether they could be trusted. Six bridges, twelve sessions of ninety minutes each in October 2024, one clicker per direction. The loops undercount by between six and nineteen percent, and the gap is largest on the bridges where cyclists ride two abreast. The report is short, the appendix is long, and the traffic department replied to it, which is more than I expected from a second-year assignment.
